Green Goddess Smoothie

This Green Goddess Smoothie is by far my favorite summer smoothie! It was actually the first smoothie combo that I have ever made. It’s a fun green color and tastes super refreshing. The green color comes both from spinach and wheatgrass. Wheatgrass has a grassy taste that isn’t too strong so its an easy add to any smoothie. Wheatgrass is rich in nutrients and antioxidants. However, wheatgrass comes from the wheat plant and can contain gluten depending on how it is harvested. It may be best to avoid wheatgrass if you are gluten-free.

What You’ll Need:

Frozen Banana:  I definitely recommend freezing the banana. I think frozen bananas taste like ice cream when blended in a smoothie and are so delicious!

Frozen Pineapple: You will need frozen pineapple chunks for this recipe.

Fresh Spinach: I prefer using fresh spinach for this smoothie rather than frozen. I found that frozen spinach makes it too icy and not as flavorful.

Almond Butter: I like to use a plain almond butter with no added sugar or oil.

Wheatgrass: I use a scoop of wheatgrass in this recipe. Skip the wheatgrass if you need to be gluten-free.

Cinnamon: Add cinnamon to taste for some added flavor.

Coconut Water or Almond Milk: You can use either coconut water or unsweetened almond milk in this recipe. Coconut water makes it taste more refreshing and sweet. Almond milk makes it taste creamier.

How to Make Green Goddess Smoothie:

Blend all ingredients until smooth! To make a thicker smoothie, add less almond milk or coconut water. To make a thinner smoothie, add more almond milk or coconut water.
