Healthy Breakfast And Snack Meal Prep Ideas

There are many different ways to meal prep. Some people make a few large meals and portion them out into containers to eat for lunch and dinner throughout the week. Others prepare and chop veggies and other foods to make it easy to throw meals together throughout the week. Some people just get their grocery shopping done for the week, or even just for the next few days. There is no right or wrong way to meal prep. The best kind of meal prep is the type that works for you. In this post I will share healthy breakfast and snack meal prep ideas that can save you time and help you eat healthier throughout the week.

Meal prepping has numerous benefits. It can save time, money, reduce stress, and enable you to make healthy food choices. Meal prepping can be particularly beneficial for those who have a busy schedule and don’t have a lot of time to prepare meals throughout the week. If you are trying to make healthier food choices, meal prepping can be a great tool. Preparing healthy meals and snacks in advance can reduce stress around making healthy food choices. If you have healthy food options prepared, you will be less likely to order takeout or eat convenience foods, especially when you are busy or stressed. Healthy Breakfast Meal Prep Ideas

Overnight Oats

Overnight oats make a great, nutritious breakfast. They are probably one of the easiest foods to meal prep. Furthermore, you can prepare overnight oats for the entire work week (5 days) in less than five minutes. In just five minutes, you can have a delicious and healthy breakfast prepared for the entire work week. All you need to do is mix the ingredients and then allow the overnight oats to sit in the refrigerator overnight. The oats soften in the refrigerator and form a pudding-like texture.

If I have an almost empty peanut butter jar, I like using that jar to make overnight oats. When you make overnight oats in a peanut butter jar, you get the remaining peanut butter that is stuck to the sides and bottom of the jar in the oats and it tastes delicious! You can do this with any almost empty nut or seed butter jar.

I usually make my overnight oats using rolled oats, unsweetened nut milk, fresh or frozen fruit, nuts or seeds, and a little bit of sweetener. See below some videos of how to make overnight oats.

Egg Muffins

Egg muffins make a great, savory breakfast. They are a great way to use up any leftover veggies that you have in the refrigerator. Egg muffins can be made with just eggs, veggies, your choice of spices, an oil spray, and cheese (optional). Click here to see the full Egg Muffin recipe details.

For snacks, I love preparing veggies with dips. Two of my favorite dips are guacamole and hummus. You can have any kind vegetable that you like with these dips. My favorites are baby carrots, celery, bell pepper slices, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and celery.

Hard-boiled eggs are another great snack or breakfast option that can easily be prepared in advance. They can be made in less than 20 minutes.
