Berry Beet Smoothie Bowl

This Blueberry Beet Smoothie is the perfect combination of sweetness and creaminess. I’m not kidding when I say that I made this smoothie nearly everyday for a couple of weeks this winter. Yes, I eat smoothie bowls all throughout the winter. They are that good.

I recently came across Trader Joe’s frozen beet chunks and am so glad that I discovered them. I love adding beets to smoothies and these frozen beet chunks make it so easy to do. These beets are already peeled, cut, frozen, and ready to be tossed into a smoothie! This is definitely an easier alternative to preparing your own frozen beets.

What You’ll Need:

Frozen Fruit: You, lf course, can’t make a berry smoothie without berries! I like using frozen berries to give the smoothie a frozen texture. Plus, frozen berries tend to be less expensive than fresh berries and last longer.

Frozen Beets: Beets naturally sweeten the smoothie and give it a fun, bright pink color.

Avocado: While adding avocado to smoothies may sound strange, it actually makes the smoothie super creamy and satiating. If you don’t like avocado, you can substitute with a tablespoon of nut or seed butter instead.

Cinnamon: I add cinnamon to almost all of my smoothies. It gives the smoothie a nice, sweet flavor.

Almond Milk: You can use any kind of unsweetened milk for this recipe. I use unsweetened almond milk.

How to Make Beet Berry Smoothie:

Blend until smooth and enjoy! I like topping it with honey bee pollen and chia seeds.

Note: Bee pollen may not be safe to consume during pregnancy. If pregnant, consult your doctor or registered dietitian to understand which foods are safe for consumption.
