Fact: you do not need pancake batter to make your own pancakes. I have recently been making my own pancake batter using oats and love it. I love making this pancake batter because it’s made with ingredients that I typically have in my kitchen and is so easy to make. These Banana Oatmeal Pancakes are nutritious, rich in fiber, and taste delicious!
It’s no secret that I love oatmeal. It is a staple in my breakfast rotation and I also regularly make pancakes using oat flour. However, you do not need oat flour to make pancakes. You can make your own oat flour by simply blending oats. It is so easy and can save money on oat flour. In order to make this Banana Oatmeal Pancake batter, you will need to blend gluten free oats with chia seeds, banana, and almond milk. Each of these ingredients are critical.

What You’ll Need to Make the Banana Oatmeal Pancakes:
Rolled Oats: You, of course, can’t make oatmeal pancakes without oats! You will need rolled oats for this recipe. Be sure to use gluten-free rolled oats if you need to make this recipe gluten-free.
Banana: I recommend using a ripe banana for this recipe. Bananas sweeten and soften as they ripen so a ripe banana will give these pancakes a sweet flavor and help the batter bind together.
Almond Milk: I used unsweetened almond milk in this recipe, but you can use any kind of milk that you’d like.
Chia Seeds: Chia seeds are a nutrient-dense food and are rich in fiber. The chia seeds help the batter bind together.
Spices: Cinnamon and nutmeg spices give these pancakes a sweet and delicious flavor.
Now how do you make the pancakes? That is the easiest part. All you have to do is place those ingredients in a blender and blend for a couple of minutes until the batter texture is consistent. The batter will be thick. Next, cook into pancakes using cooking oil or butter of your choice. This recipe makes one serving of pancakes.
