One of my favorite things about Fall is that apples are in season. I love going apple picking with friends and making recipes with fresh, seasonal apples. I always look forward to making this Apple Crumble after I go apple picking. This Apple Crumble is made with just a few simple ingredients and is both gluten-free and vegan.

What You’ll Need:
Apples: You, of course, can’t make an apple crumble without apples! I used honeycrisp apples, but you can use any variety of apples that you like.
Rolled Oats: You will need rolled oats to make the crumble for this recipe. Be sure to purchase gluten-free rolled oats if you need to make this recipe gluten-free. You can substitute the rolled oats with almond flour to make this recipe paleo.
Coconut Flour: You will also need coconut flour to make the crumble for this recipe.
Coconut Oil: Coconut oil is used to cook the apples and also to help hold the crumble together.
Maple Syrup: Maple syrup is used to sweeten this recipe.
Spices: Cinnamon and nutmeg give this recipe a delicious, Fall flavor.
How to Make the Apple Crumble:
- Cut the apples into slices. Combine the apple slices with 2 tbsp coconut oil, 2 tbsp maple syrup, cinnamon and nutmeg. Place on a loaf pan and cook on 400 deg for approximately 40 minutes or until the apples soften.
- In a bowl, mix together the rolled oats, coconut flour, maple syrup, and coconut oil. Add mixture to the top of the cooked apples and bake for an additional 20 minutes or until the crumble has slightly browned.
