Hi, I’m Mel! I’m so excited to have you visit my page! I am a Nutrition grad student in NYC and future Registered Dietitian. I love all things health and wellness and am a firm believer in eating real food.
I am here to share easy, healthy, and delicious recipes! There is a common misconception that eating healthy is bland and unappetizing, but it doesn’t have to be! I truly believe that eating healthy can be fun and delicious and I hope that my recipes show you how. As a former Management Consultant, I also share some tips on how to stay healthy while traveling for work.

After college is when I really became interested in nutrition. I was cooking for myself and wanted to eat healthy so began experimenting with cooking different healthy recipes. Nutrition quickly became my hobby. Fast forward five years later, and I found myself spending almost all of my free time engrossed in nutrition- reading studies by Dr. T. Colin Campbell, watching documentaries on the various food industries, and listening to wellness podcasts. I even bought a book about the microbiome as beach leisure reading. I quickly realized that nutrition was more than just a hobby- it is my passion and I wanted to make it my career.
I started this blog in May 2018 while considering a career change into the field of nutrition. At age 27, I was afraid that I was too invested in my current career path and was too “old” to make a career change. I started my blog as well as my instagram account, @wellbymel_ , as a way to enable myself to post healthy recipes and really decide if this is something that I was interested in doing long term. The verdict? I love it and cannot be more excited about going back to school to study nutrition!
In addition to cooking healthy food, I also love to sweat! I’m a former collegiate swimmer and love to swim, run, and go to megaformer and barre classes. When I’m not in the kitchen or working out, you can also find me drinking margaritas with friends – it’s all about balance 😉
