Low Sugar Pralines

I have been on a serious praline kick lately. I love Trader Joes pralines, but I don’t love the ingredients. Most praline recipes are loaded with sugar, so I wanted to make a lower sugar version of this delicious treat. These low sugar pralines are sweetened with monkfruit sweetener. Monkfruit sweetener is a zero calorie, zero sugar natural alternative to sugar. For this recipe, I used Lakanto Monkfruit Baking Sweetener.

This dessert is gluten free and low in sugar. It is a keto-friendly dessert recipe. If you’re looking for more keto dessert recipes, also checkout my Low Sugar Chocolate Almond Butter Bars recipe.

Ingredients in Low Sugar Pralines:

1 cup monkfruit sweetener (I used Lakanto monkfruit Baking Sweetener)

1 tbsp unsalted butter

2 1/4 cups pecans

1 tsp vanilla extract

pinch of sea salt

Directions:

  1. Add butter to a pot and melt on low heat.
  2. Once the butter is mostly melted, add the 1 cup of monkfruit baking sugar and stir until fully mixed.
  3. Add 1 tsp of vanilla extract and a pinch of seat salt to the mixture and continue to stir on low heat.
  4. Once the mixture is an even consistency, turn off heat and add 2 1/4 cups pecans to the pot. Stir/mix until the pecans are fully coated with the mixture.
  5. Pour the mixture onto a baking dish lined with parchment paper. Allow the pecans to cool to room temperature on the baking dish. The coating on the pecans will harden.
  6. Enjoy the pralines once at room temperature! Store in the fridge.
